Terms of Use

CASHOT TERMS OF USE

These Terms of Use govern use of CASHOT. By using CASHOT, you agree to these terms.

WHAT CASHOT DOES

CASHOT is a cash-flow planning tool. It helps estimate how much cash may be available for a selected period based on connected account data, transactions, recurring income and expenses, one-time items, savings goals, safety buffers, and user settings.

CASHOT is for planning and informational purposes only. CASHOT does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, credit, or accounting advice.

NO MONEY MOVEMENT

CASHOT does not move money, initiate payments, issue credit, underwrite loans, make lending decisions, or provide investment services.

ESTIMATES AND USER RESPONSIBILITY

CASHOT calculations are estimates. Balances, pending transactions, transaction timing, recurring item detection, and user-entered plans may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect.

You are responsible for reviewing your accounts, bills, obligations, and financial decisions before spending, saving, borrowing, or making payments.

CONNECTED ACCOUNTS

CASHOT uses Plaid to let users connect financial accounts. By connecting an account, you authorize CASHOT and Plaid to access user-permissioned account, balance, and transaction information needed to provide the app.

CASHOT does not ask for bank usernames or passwords directly. Those credentials, when required, are handled by Plaid or the financial institution through the Plaid connection flow.

ACCOUNT AND APP DATA

You are responsible for keeping your device and app access secure. You may delete saved CASHOT data from Settings. Deletion clears saved app state and linked-account cache for the app user.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PURCHASES

CASHOT may offer subscriptions or in-app purchases through the App Store. Any paid offering will be shown through Apple's purchase flow with the applicable price, renewal, cancellation, and trial information before purchase.

Do not rely on any paid feature unless the App Store purchase flow confirms that the product is available and active.

ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to misuse CASHOT, attempt to access data that is not yours, interfere with the app or backend, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or use CASHOT for unlawful purposes.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

CASHOT depends on third-party services such as Plaid, Apple, hosting, and infrastructure providers. CASHOT is not responsible for third-party service outages, data delays, or third-party terms and policies.

AVAILABILITY

CASHOT may change, suspend, or discontinue features. The app may be unavailable because of maintenance, service outages, provider issues, or other conditions.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CASHOT is not liable for financial losses, missed bills, overdrafts, fees, decisions made based on estimates, data delays, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

CASHOT may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The latest version will show the updated date above.

Privacy Policy

CASHOT helps users understand near-term cash flow by showing an estimate of the cash available for a selected period. This Privacy Policy explains what information CASHOT collects, how it is used, and how users can request deletion of their saved data.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

CASHOT may collect and process:

  • Account names, account types, balances, balance update times, and linked institution status.
  • Transaction dates, amounts, merchant names, categories, and pending or posted status.
  • User selections for recurring income, recurring expenses, one-time items, rejected suggestions, savings goals, safety buffers, account inclusion, and credit card handling.
  • Basic app account information, such as the sign-in method and email address, if provided.
  • Privacy-conscious app usage events needed to operate and improve the app.

CASHOT does not ask users to enter their bank usernames or passwords directly. Financial account connections are handled through Plaid.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

CASHOT uses information to:

  • Calculate the estimated cash available for the selected period.
  • Show upcoming income, bills, one-time items, and credit card obligations.
  • Identify likely recurring income and expenses for user confirmation.
  • Remember user settings, confirmations, rejections, and app preferences.
  • Provide account connection status, balance freshness information, customer support, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Improve reliability and understand app usage without selling personal financial data.

PLAID

CASHOT uses Plaid to allow users to connect financial accounts. Plaid may collect and process information according to Plaid’s Privacy Policy and the consent flow presented during account connection.

CASHOT receives account, balance, and transaction information that the user authorizes Plaid to provide.

INFORMATION SHARING

CASHOT does not sell personal financial data.

Information may be shared with service providers that are necessary to operate the app, including Plaid and providers of backend hosting, storage, and infrastructure services.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect CASHOT, its users, or others.

DATA RETENTION

CASHOT retains connected account data, transaction data, and app settings for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app’s features and services.

Users can delete saved app data from the Settings screen.

DATA DELETION

Users can delete their saved CASHOT data from the Settings screen. Deletion clears the saved app state and linked-account cache from the backend for that app user.

Users may also contact CASHOT support for assistance with a data-deletion request.

SECURITY

CASHOT uses HTTPS for backend communications and stores sensitive backend credentials outside the iOS app. Plaid access tokens are stored on the backend and are encrypted when backend encryption is configured.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. However, CASHOT is designed to limit access to financial information and keep provider-specific credentials and secrets out of the app.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

CASHOT is intended for adults managing personal finances and is not directed to children.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

CASHOT may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The latest version will display its effective date at the top of this page.
